What is my impact as an outstanding leader?
I enable great staff to execute our client’s plan. How? By providing them the support and guidance to succeed.
As an outstanding leader, I have the power to influence outcomes. Where I equip them with training and valuable information, I can improve the team’s performance. And ultimately, impact the company’s bottom line.
Leaders have patience and resilience. I know that I cannot immediately provide a quick return of investment (ROI) to the company I serve. Therefore, I direct my efforts towards developing my team members into the best staff they can be, until such time, they become outstanding leaders themselves.
Cultivating great leaders from a group of individuals takes time and effort. Therefore, it is a marathon and not a sprint. So, I take a focused and steady approach in bringing the best out of my team.
The impact may be a slow burn. It will be obvious in the team’s improved work ethic. And their enhanced ability to deliver great outcomes to the business and its clients. They will be a solid team that operates as one. They are more effective, efficient, and productive in the work that they do. They will also have willingly taken steps to learn more than what is required of their role. It’s because they are reciprocating the care and treatment I have given, and aim to earn my trust and respect.
There is no secret formula to developing great staff. As an outstanding leader, I make the work environment conducive for learning and development. I am aware of the strong impact I have on my team, so I set high but attainable expectations for them.
And through coaching and feedback, I raise the bar higher and do my part in helping my team reach it.
